Ravens say San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been treated much too politely by his NFL opponents.
After watching game film, the Ravens claim Kaepernick has been babied by rivals. If they get the chance, they plan to rough up the rapidly-rising young star.
"...It's been crazy, watching the tape and not seeing him get hit," defensive tackle Haloti Ngata told the San Francisco Chronicle. "If we get a shot, we have to take it. You have to slow him down, make him think about not wanting to get hit."
Kaepernick and the 49ers run a lot of read-option plays, with the quarterback making the decision to run or hand off to one of the running backs at the last instant. In the Ravens' eyes, that leaves him vulnerable.
"I've been surprised," insider linebacker Dannell Ellerbe said. "You want to hit the quarterback anyway, and now you get a chance to take shots because he is out in the open and not protected."
